This is a poster for a movie called Reservoir Dogs. The purpose of this poster is to make the viewers want to see the movie. I think that it is a successful design because it strikes very intense emotions in people. It makes me imagine a suspenseful sense with a very tense mood. It foreshadows what may happen in the movie without giving out too much information or ruining anything. I first saw this poster at the store Disc Replay. I like this poster because of the image and typography used. I think that two go great together.

This is the new album cover to the cd Cold World by Of Mice and Men. The purpose of this album is to show the mood and feeling of the album. Its supposed to give out a sense of doom and loneliness. I think that the art as well as type work very well with one another. I saw this on Itunes and thought that it set an accurate mood for the album.

This is an add that I saw by Heinz Ketchup. Its purpose is to show their product and also show how they are more earthy than other brands. The tomatoes that make up the bottle is an intelligent decision by the designer. It helps show the product and end result. I saw this add online and it appealed to me because the shape of organic objects make a machined object.

This was a very unique design that I saw on a business card online. Its designed by Mastri Design, for Michael Gilmore. Its created by StudioEQ. Not only does this design have use of simple sharp shapes for letters but it also has texture. I like how the designers use the letters to cut out negative space in the business card. The texture helps give it an organic feel as well. I think overall the typography, texture, and color all work very well together. If someone gave me this business card I would be intrigued and definitely keep it.

These two designs are by Minga Creative Studio in Argentina. Their goal is from this series "WTF" was to produce playful, simplistic, and intriguing designs. I liked this series of theirs because of the use of simple shape and color. The top image has a clear designs and great use of placement by the designers in the image. The light beam drags your eye through the image and into the thought bubble of this human figure that is urinating in the grass. Not only does the design make you think, but it also brings a sense of humor to it and makes it enjoyable to look at.
The bottom picture is simple and uses an image of the evolution of man that most if not all of us have seen at one point in time. The designers used that to create this piece that doesn't necessarily have a specific purpose. The transformation into a human point a gun at someone could be interpreted as multiple things so thats why I like it.

This piece was developed by the creative team Mike Schacherer, for the firm Little. The client for this design was Fair State Brewing CooperativeMike Schacherer used his design skills to create a series of posters, which included this one, in order to grab the attention of fellow beer enthusiasts. He wanted to bring people together by showing how this out of the world beer is so amazing. He used simplicity to keep the design from being too distracting. From the use of color and simple shape he was able to emphasize certain parts of this design and keep it visually appealing at the same time.
